Exclusive Matter of Taste New York Premiere of the award winning feature film André - The Voice of Wine narrated by Ralph Fiennes will take place at the Gelsey Kirkland Arts Center.

André Tchelistcheff, the “dean of American winemaking,” was one of the most remarkable vintners of the twentieth century. "André - The Voice of Wine" takes viewers on a cinematic journey from Russia through Europe to America, exploring the story of the legendary winemaker. Born a Russian aristocrat, his family was forced to flee persecution under the Bolshevik revolution. After a turbulent early life, he came to the Napa Valley where he helped reshape the California wine industry after the repeal of Prohibition. André was an artist and scientist - his philosophy about life and his love for wine continues to influence generations of winemakers worldwide. This story, narrated by Ralph Fiennes and told in André’s voice and the voices of those who knew him best, features some of today’s most important vintners.

Following the film, there will be a Q & A with Director Mark Tchelistcheff and a panel of distinguished guests including: Gelasio Gaetani d’Aragona Lovatelli (Ornellaia), Rob Davis (Jordan), Joel Aiken (Aiken Wines), Greg La Follette (Alquimista Winery), and Patrick Leon (Les Trois Croix / Lefkadia Valley)

Directly after the panel, the matinee event will be concluded with a meet & greet with the film director and panelists during a curated wine reception.

Featured wineries include Ornellaia, Beaulieu Vineyards, Grgich Hills, Alpha Omega, Les Trois Croix, Lefkadia Valley, Jordan, Schramsberg, Aiken Wines, Jarvis Estate, Aquimista Winery and more to be announced...

In addition to a movie and wine experience, all attendees will take home an exclusive Sophienwald, hand-made luxury lead-free crystal stemware that is light as a feather with a technical design (and is dishwasher safe!)

Not only will you get to enjoy a fantastic, exclusive event, you will automatically be a patron of the arts by attending. A portion of the proceeds from these Screenings will help provide the platform for this important film to be released and shown to the general public in 2019.

A perfect Sunday Matinee. Don't you wish all movies had wine tastings and meet and greet film panels with icons of the industry. We look forward to seeing you there!

"Wine movies are a tough sell.  There have been few that have captured the passion that people feel for the process and the journey of winemakers. But due to the subject and the crafting of “André Tchelistcheff:  The Voice of Wine,” this is one worth seeking out." - Kelly J Hayes
